The Exciting Results

I had handed in my application and the wait began...
The anticipation nibbled away at me as I was sitting in my maths class on a Friday afternoon.
"Today is the day, I should be receiving the results today but its already 5th period... What if you don't receive a letter to notify you that you didn't make it?"
There was a knock at the door, a student receptionist stood there with envelopes.
"Those must be it"
My heart was in my throat as I watched my teacher pass these envelopes out, cheers rang out as those who received an envelope exclaimed, "Yes! I made it into San Fran!".
My heart sunk as I watched the last few envelopes being handed out but none ended in front of me.
"I didn't make it? No! I don't believe it! Maybe they just got my lesson wrong or something, there's still one more period. Yes, that must be the reason.
As I rushed to my last lesson of the day, Computer Science, I was relieved to know there was an envelope with my name marked on it in the hand of my teacher. Phew! However, my teacher refused to give it to me until the end of the lesson, in attempt to mess with my head by saying,"in case you start crying if you don't make it."
That was the longest lesson of my life (or at least it felt like it), finally, the bell rang, signalling the end of the lesson. I had my envelope in hand, I carefully but eagerly opened the envelope and searched the first line for something along the lines of "sorry you have not been successful" or "congratulations, you've been successful" etc. There it was, the line which confirmed I had been successful... I reread it multiple times and asked my friends to read it for me before letting out a cheer. I then proceeded to immediately text and call my friends who also were successful and began planning our shopping trips for America.
I am just as excited as I was when opening the letter and I can honestly say I cannot wait to document every step of my journey to and in America.
