Why I Chose ICT and Computer Science and What Aspects Interests me:
While many of my friends and family commented: "That's going to be hard!", "Are you sure?" and "You must be crazy!", I still chose to take both CS and ICt for GCSE. Yes, I admit the workload and controlled assessment is not easy but if I could go back in time, undoubtly , I would still make the same decision because it was just too hard to choose between the two.
I like Computer Science because I love problem solving and that's what I think CS is, finding ways to solve problems and find solutions to things. After overcoming those problems, I always get the feeling of achievement, whether it's when I finished creating a working game in Scratch or a solution in Python, it is something I feel proud of. Also it fascinates me, the endless creations possible from something as little and basic as an empty code document.
The reason I chose ICT was because, as important as it is to create programs and games , it is also important to know how to use these programs. Regardless of how many programmes we produce, without our knowledge of how to use these programs , they're useless.
There are many aspects of ICT and CS which interests me, which probably responsible for why I chose these two subjects but the most important aspect would be the creativity and freedom it involves. Every solution we produce , every program we design, is unique and with technology , there really is no limit. Furthermore, as I've mentioned before, another aspect which interests me would be problem solving, coming up with solutions, which explains why I particularly enjoy STEM subjects.
