Encouraging Students to Consider Careers in STEM

Similar to 'Sharing the Experience', we could start a website or magazine which updates weekly or monthly, giving details about what is happening in the world involving STEM and Computing. Also on the website we could post a video every month about interesting ways that technology is developing , for example, Ted Ed videos are great to educate people about a specific area each time and are presented in an interesting way to keep students engaged. These videos show how computing and STEM are works and used so the students will get a better understanding and more encouraged to consider STEM careers or even cause students to have a new interest in STEM.

As we've learnt that there are less than half of the women working in STEM , as to men; therefore, we could use this trip to illustrate the importance of women in STEM by showing examples of the role of women in the organisations we will visit. Furthermore, as a Digital Leader, I would suggest more STEM days with activities focusing on computing and ICT to showcase the fun in a career of computing and STEM.
